Disclosure: every commercial relationship we have

This page lists every commercial relationship behind SirenPicks, in one place, in plain language. If something here is unclear, that is a bug in this page rather than a nuance — tell us and we will fix the wording.

How does SirenPicks make money, and does it affect the reviews?

Two ways: affiliate commission on some outbound retailer links, and our own device line. There is no display advertising, no sponsored content, no paid placement and no link sales. Neither funding source can move a score: affiliate status is disclosed at the top of any article containing a link and the score is fixed before a link is chosen, we own SirenPicks and say so on every page while testing it on the identical protocol, and brands can pay for bench time and data licences but never for a verdict.

  • The whole list is two items. Affiliate commission and our own device line. Nothing else funds this site.
  • Free samples are disclosed on the article and can score negatively — several have.
  • Nothing is for sale that changes an outcome — not a score, a ranking, a placement or a kind word.
  • Full details: the table below maps every relationship to where it is disclosed and whether it can affect a score.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links to retailers may be affiliate links. If you buy through one, the retailer may pay us a commission. It costs you nothing extra, and it does not change the price you see.

  • Affiliate status is disclosed at the top of any article that contains an affiliate link.
  • Scores, rankings and verdicts are fixed by the test results before any link is selected.
  • If the best-measured device has no affiliate programme, we still recommend it and link to it without a commission.
  • We never mark an outbound link as sponsored, because we are not paid for placement — only for a completed sale.

Ownership: we make a device line

SirenPicks owns the SirenPicks device line, and SirenPicks products are recommended in some of our roundups and face-offs. This is disclosed in the footer of every page, labelled on every pick, and explained in full in our ownership policy. In short: identical protocol, explicit "ours" labels, competitors ranked first when they win, and a non-SirenPicks recommendation available on request.

Free samples and review units

Some devices are bought at full retail price; some are sent by brands, distributors or retailers for review. When a unit was supplied, the article says so.

  • A supplied unit is tested on the same protocol, at the same weights, as a bought unit.
  • A supplied unit can receive a negative score, and several have.
  • We do not return units, and we do not accept conditions — no embargo on a negative verdict, no approval of copy, no right of review before publication.
  • We do not accept payment for a review, and we do not charge for the testing of a device submitted through the For Brands route unless it is a paid data project, in which case the arrangement is stated in the resulting coverage.

What we do not do

  • No display advertising. There are no ad networks, no ad tags and no ad cookies on this site.
  • No sponsored posts or paid placements. Nothing on SirenPicks can be bought.
  • No paid links in or out. We do not sell links, and we do not accept payment to link to a retailer.
  • No data sales. We do not sell, rent or trade reader data.

Analytics and cookies

Analytics is optional and off by default. If you allow it, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which tests are read, with IP anonymisation, Google Signals disabled and ad-personalisation signals disabled. Google tags are not requested at all until you allow them — declining means nothing is sent to Google. No advertising cookies are set, ever. Details, including retention periods and how to withdraw consent, are on the privacy page.

Regulatory and regional notes

SirenPicks publishes editorial content about adult wellness products and is intended for readers aged 18 and over. We are not a retailer and we do not process product orders; purchases are made from third-party retailers under their own terms. Nothing on this site is medical advice — if you have a health concern, speak to a clinician.

If a disclosure looks wrong to you

An undisclosed relationship is the one failure that would invalidate everything else on this site, so it is treated as the highest-priority bug. If you spot a link you suspect is affiliate and unlabelled, an article about a supplied device that does not say so, or any commercial arrangement missing from the table above, send the page and what you think is missing. Corrections of this kind are fixed immediately rather than queued.

Questions about our disclosures

How does SirenPicks make money?

Two ways: affiliate commission on some outbound links to retailers, and our own device line. There is no display advertising, no sponsored content and no paid placement. Affiliate links are disclosed at the top of any article that contains one, and the score is fixed before any link is chosen.

Do you sell links or placements?

No. We do not sell links, we do not sell placements, and we do not accept payment for a ranking or a review. Nothing on the site can be bought that way, and there is no sponsored slot to buy.

Do you own any of the products you recommend?

Yes — SirenPicks owns the device line it reviews and sells. Every SirenPicks entry in a roundup or face-off is labelled as ours, the ownership statement appears in the footer of every page, and the full handling of the conflict is in the editorial policy. You can also ask for the best non-SirenPicks option for your needs.

Do you accept free samples?

Yes, and they are disclosed on the article. A supplied unit runs the same five tests at the same weights as a device we bought ourselves, can receive a negative score, and is never accepted with conditions such as copy approval or an embargo on a negative verdict.

Do you run ads or ad cookies?

No. There are no ad networks, no ad tags and no advertising cookies on this site, and no remarketing or cross-site tracking. Analytics is optional, uses Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation and ad signals permanently denied, and does not load at all unless you allow it.

Do you sell reader data?

No. We do not sell, rent or trade reader data, and there are no advertisers to share it with. The only reader data we hold is what you send us or, if you allow it, aggregate analytics.

No fine print

If a relationship is not on this page, it does not exist.

Two funding sources, both disclosed, neither able to move a score. If you find a commercial arrangement missing from this page — a link, a sample, an introduction — that is the most serious bug you can report to us, and it gets fixed immediately.
